A Woman’s Flight

She desperately wanted to fly

To be above it all in the sky

She began to ruffle her feathers

Breaking free from all the tethers

To find freedom and peace

And let the stress decrease

Soaring above the animosity

Maneuvering with such velocity

Away from the unfortunate opposition

Nothing will stop her ambition

Feeling stronger than the toughest steel

She begins on the path to heal

Feeling the wind caress her face

Flying high with such grace

Above the sadness and remorse

She plans a whole new course

Finding the needed love and devotion

She stays away from all the commotion

Like a breath held too long

My tear-filled eyes close

That hushed voice finds me

Points out the blissful truth

He started to persuade

The haunting hurt to fade away

With each warm word whispered in my ear

And all that fear slips from my heart

Feeling Alone

Looking out my window, feeling so alone

No one to call on my phone

Sometimes it’s hard to just cope

Trying not to lose all hope

Watching the rain fall from a dark sky

Baffled and wondering why

Pushing forward, living day to day

My demons I must learn to slay

My mind races with disturbing thoughts

Nauseated, my stomach all in knots

Feeling like I got left behind

Wishing I could get it all off my mind

Sadness Unseen

I saw you laughing

When I came by yesterday

Your sparkling smile

Was like diamonds gleaming

I felt your warmth and

I thought you were peaceful

Why didn’t I notice it?

Your eyes so full of pain

How did I miss the underlying sorrow?

Today I saw you break down

Tears streamed down your face

How long has this bothered you?

Sadness I never knew you felt

It must have felt like an eternity
